Modeling
and Forecasting
Mathtech is recognized as preeminent in developing Resources-to-Readiness mathematical models that accurately forecast readiness as a function of expenditures in broad areas such as manpower, training, spares procurement, and maintenance. Accurate to between one and two percentage points, our models have been used for over two decades by Navy management to make important programming and budget decisions. Click here to access more detailed descriptions of these Resources-to-Readiness models, often referred to as Performance Based Budgeting models. Mathtech has also developed expertise in building Information Technology forecast models. As an example, for the U. S. Army Reserve we created a model to estimate costs of the USAR Information Technology infrastructure. By using this model, the USAR was able to improve their ability to quantify IT requirements, justify IT estimates and funding requests, and defend the IT requirements estimation process in the context of the impact of funding shortfalls. Another area of Mathtech expertise is Life Cycle Cost, often referred to as Total Ownership Cost. Among the types of systems we have provided estimates for are command and control systems, space systems, avionics, and ship propulsion systems. Click here for more information on our Life Cycle Cost capabilities. In the area of Econometric modeling, Mathtech designed a methodology to develop a formula for allocating federal funds to the neediest school districts in the State of New Jersey.
