AICS CrewComm
The CrewComm provides the operator with control and audio interface for
radios. NAVAIDS, and the intercom network. Customized front panels with individual
controls for each audio asset or multi-purpose switches for space-saving design are
accommodated by firmware, without changing the basic circuitry of the AICS. Individual and
master volume controls, VOX sensitivity control, binaural sound, and the ICS Select audio
exclusion feature allow the operator to customize his own audio environment. This unit also provides the connection between all communications
assets and the AICS data bus. MIL-STD 1553B interface is also provided by this unit. Each
CrewComm unit has the capacity to provide connectivity for up to 4
transceivers or receive-only channels such as NAVAID warning tones.
