PRODUCTS
Mathtech's Advanced Inter-Communications System
is a family of products based on a line of high reliability, modular, and cost
effective airborne communications circuits. The AICS family is flexible in design,
providing ease of use, low cost, light weight and low power. The form factor
is a standard Dzus mounted enclosure, 5.75" wide and 6.75" to 8"
high. Connectors can be customer specified. Operator panels are always customized
for your application.
The AICS family is an all-digital, fully secure system for routing audio between
crewmembers and communication/recording systems. The AICS does not rely on a
communications plan - headset audio is re-configurable in infinite combinations
of channels! Switching and control of up to 33 receive/transmit systems is accomplished
via a highly user-friendly pushbutton panel. A completely separate analog routing
and distribution system is a companion to the AICS, for emergency operation.
Key AICS features include unlimited conferencing, binaural audio, simulcast,
radio relay capability, and extensive built-in testing. Optional capability
includes a MIL-STD-1553 bus interface.
About Our Architecture...Mathtech's AICS is based on a line of high reliability,
modular, and cost effective airborne communications circuits based on an advanced
digital approach and using PC, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and other open architectures.
Our designs are highly distributed, using multiple processors and varying degrees
of redundancy with many COTS hardware and software elements. COTS and standard
solutions help our customers in many ways:
- Established factory maintenance
- Availability of technology refresh
- Many suppliers
The AICS family of communications modules does not rely on a "central switch" architecture. Audio asset connectivity is distributed, eliminating the issues of failure and redundancy in a central controller unit. The weight and cost of the central controller are eliminated!
Retrofit is a speciality! Without the need for a central controller unit, we can retrofit your platform with a minimum of re-wiring. In some cases re-use of existing wiring with the addition of bus cabling is the approach. Field installation is a real possibility for this avionics upgrade - major new capability with minimal down time! PDF view of the AICS.
